Arbusto o árbol.
Arbusto o árbol, hasta 10 m de altura. Ramas cuadrangulares y a menudo aladas, pubescentes; hoja de elíptica a ampliamente ovada, de 8-30 por 5-15 cm, ambas caras pubescentes o puberulentas, a veces denticuladas, ápice agudo o acuminado, base cuneada y decurrente; pecíolos de 0,5 a 5 cm de largo.
Inflorescencias terminales, paniculadas, pubescentes, de 10 a 40 cm de largo; cáliz cupular, de 1 a 3 mm de largo, truncado o denticulado en floración, en el fruto de pateliforme a cupular; corola de azul a blanca, tubo de 5 a 10 mm de largo, recto o curvado, algunas veces sacciforme.
