Reasons: According to Long and Lakela (1971), P. rigida is endemic to peninsular Florida. Small (SE Flora, 1933), and Wunderlin (1982) write that this species is common and widespread throughout Florida.
Piloblephis:
Piloblephis is a genus of flowering plant in the Lamiaceae family, first described as a genus in 1838. It contains only one known species, Piloblephis rigida, native to Florida, southern Georgia, and the Bahamas.[1][2][3]
