Description
The little mint Trichostema dichotomum showing it's sparkly, sugary texture in the low angle morning sunlight. It is growing in Jonathan Dickinson State Park in what would normally be dry, sandy pine flatwoods but the ground is currently very wet! I have seen these at Jupiter Ridge and Frenchman's Forest this month too. The tiny flowers are sometimes found only partially open and the blue color varies in intensity. These were every bit as blue as they appear in the image (I think it's more of a purple). These are common from Florida all the way up to Canada.
