Description:
Perennial herb or subshrub. Stems 1-several, erect or ascending. Leaves opposite with a long petiole. Inflorescence a lax panicle; branches with alternately 1-2 flowers at each node. Upper lip of the calyx as long as the lower lip. Corolla tube 2-4 mm, lower lip distinctly hooded at the apex, 2 reflexed lobes near the base.

buchnerianus: After J.G. Buchner, German natuarist who collected the type specimen in Angola
Worldwide distribution:
Angola, Namibia, DRC, Tanzania, S Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zimbabwe.
